That is why you need a compassionate and skilled legal representative on your side to help you fight for the financial compensation you need to pay for expenses.

The Statute of Limitations

If you are involved in a car accident, it is important to be aware of a few regulations, especially when it comes to filing a personal injury claim. You do not have an infinite amount of time to file a claim against the guilty party. The statute of limitations in the state of New Jersey gives you two years after your accident to file a lawsuit against the negligent individual.

There are also some exceptions to the rule. If your accident involves the government, you may actually have less than two years to file. Regardless of your excuse or reason, you cannot file for financial compensation after the time on the statute of limitations runs out.
